The S.K.I.P. Lab is housed within the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Canada. Research from our lab is aimed at supporting inclusion and participation of autistic children, youth and young adults, and people who experience other neurodevelopmental, intellectual and/or developmental conditions and their families in meaningful activities and life choices. Much of the research that occurs within the S.K.I.P. Lab occurs within the contexts of daily life, such as communities, homes, schools, and workplaces.
Neurodiversity describes the idea that people experience and interact with the world around them in many different ways: there is no one right way of thinking, learning and behaving, and differences are not viewed as deficits.
